My Letter To Mom

August 20, 1783

Dear mom,
I'm writing to you from Paris. I am very excited because there might be a peace treaty coming soon to help us end this war. Yesterday I was very scared, I thought it wasn't going to happen but Benjamin Franklin told me to have high hopes for it. The war is between Great Britain and our own colonies America. Me and my friends are really happy but we have lost a lot of loved ones in this war. I'm sure you can't wait for me to go back home but you have to be patient and I will be there. John Adams and others might sign the peace treaty, were hoping the king of Britain will want to sign it too. The only problem is that this could take a while, they have to write down whats fair for both countries and then after they all sign it will all be over.
Love,
Your daughter Andrea

cute letter. You tell about some of the events that are happening in Paris... what was it like the day of the signing? Can you find information on that?
